Why is my water bill for six months, and do I have to pay it every six months?
Water suppliers in the UK bill on a six-monthly cycle. Your water supplier will issue your first bill with an estimated total for the six months, but you have a range of payment options available to you. Set up an online account using the account number you have received in this first bill and in your Water Supplier’s online platform you should see the option to pay in regular monthly instalments, which will divide the cost into equal direct debits. There is no additional charge for dividing your payment through the year in this way.
If your water meter isn't accessible from your property tghen your supplier will take a reading from it every six months.
