When you leave your property you should inform all of your current utility suppliers with as much notice as possible and provide a forwarding address for your final bills. Wait until you receive these bills to cancel your direct debit to void a penalty for non-payment, and any overpayment you make for the period you were not responsible for the property will be refunded to you.
